Drinking from the shoe - sounds disgusting? But is has become a new tradition in sports culture. It was introduced by Australia Formulae one star Daniel Ricciardo in 2016 at the German Grand Prix. Even legendary Lewis Hamilton also gave it a try. The latest to try the 'Shoey' celebration is the Australian duo of Matthew Wade and Marcus Stoinis.
In a video posted on the social media handle of cricket's governing body, Wade and Stoinis can be seen removing their shoe and pouring a drink before gulping it down the throat. The look on Stoinis' face though tells that he didn't quite enjoy the taste.

Australia had a lot to cheer for as they claimed their maiden 20-20 World Cup title by defeating New Zealand in the final. David Warner, Mitchell Marsh, Matthew Wade, Marcus Stoinis, everyone contributed to the team's cause. Not a lot of people had backed Australia to win the trophy given the conditions and their form in the build-up to the tournament, but the team defied odds and emerged as champions.
Speaking about the final, New Zealand had set a target of 173 runs to win, with Kane Williamson playing a breathtaking inning of 85. However, the target was wiped off without breaking a sweat with Mitchell Marsh and David Warner scoring half century. Warner was the biggest positive for Australia and ended the tournament as the team's second highest run-scorer, with 289 runs to his name.
