India are playing their 1000th ODI today. The team is in a commanding position at the time of writing, with West Indies tottering at 85-7. India got off to a great start as Mohammed Siraj bowled Shai Hope in the third over. Brandon King and Darren Bravo tried to stabilize the inning but Washington Sundar accounted for them in quick succession.
Shamarh Brooks was the key player for West Indies with the top order back in the hut. However, he too couldn't trouble the scorers and was dismissed for 12. Initially, he was given not out by the umpire but Rohit decided to review the call. Brooks decided to defend the delivery but the all turned sharply and took the edge as Pant caught the ball.
Virat Kohli was also involved in the discussion and suggested to Rohit that the ball had hit the bat he should go for a review. Rohit obliged and India got a wicket.

Rohit is playing his first game as a skipper. He was named India captain before the South Africa tour but couldn't travel with the team due to a hamstring injury. Meanwhile, there were rumours that Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will not go along well together but this instance has put all of them to rest. Both the players have tome and time again denied the speculations but such instances leave no scope for further discussions.
