In the meantime, the Pakistan Cricket Board has drawn criticism for creating a completely flat wicket in Rawalpindi Stadium. There was absolutely no support for the bowlers on the wicket. After deciding to bat first, England was able to benefit from the circumstances fully. In the first inning, the team captained by Ben Stokes scored 657 runs, with four batters going for centuries.

Harry Brook, Ollie Pope, Ben Duckett, and Zak Crawley all made centuries in the game. In addition to this, the English team set numerous records, such as the highest score in a single Test match day (506 runs).

In return, Pakistan also put up a fantastic display with the bat. Abdullah Shafique, Imam ul Haq, and Babar Azam scored a century each to guide their team to a score of 579. With a lead of 78 runs, England scored 264-7 in their second innings before declaring it. Half-centuries by Zak Crawley, Joe Root, and Harry Brook helped England set a target of 343 runs.

By the end of day 4, Pakistan had scored 80 runs in the subsequent innings while losing two wickets. With Imam ul Haq and Saud Shakeel in the middle, the Men in Green will look to register a win in this historic Test series.
