In a big piece of news, the Indian team has landed in the United Arab Emirates for the upcoming Asia Cup 2022 commencing on the 27th of August later this week. Indians will start their campaign on the 28th of August against the arch-rivals Pakistan at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
All teams have announced their squads for the multi-team continental tournament. Coming back to the Indian team, then the regular skipper Rohit Sharma and senior batter Virat Kohli will be back in action for the team during the tournament.
Recently, the board of control for cricket in India (BCCI) has posted a video on their official Twitter handle in which Indian players can be seen arriving in the UAE for the tournament.
“Hello, DUBAI Hugs, smiles, and warm-ups, as we begin to prep for #AsiaCup2022, #AsiaCup | #TeamIndia 🇮🇳,” reads the caption of the video tweet posted by BCCI on their Twitter handle.

India to face Pakistan in the first match of their campaign in the tournament
Indians are coming off an emphatic series win in the recently-concluded three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe. Indian side led by the stand-in skipper KL Rahul won the series with a handsome score line of 3-0 after winning all the matches of the series. Notably, the senior lads were on the rest during the bilateral clash against Zimbabwe. They will be seen in action during the Asia Cup 2022.
Apart from that, all eyes will be on the former Indian skipper and senior batter Virat Kohli who is enduring a poor run of form for the last couple of months. He also failed in the series against England where he couldn’t register even a single half century to his name.
On the other hand, the big and much-anticipated clash is scheduled there on the second day of the tournament between India and Pakistan. In this match, Indians will be looking to take revenge for the loss against the men in green in the previous encounter during the T20 World Cup 2021.
