On 29 January 2023, India Women’s team created history by winning the inaugural edition of the Women’s Under-19 20-20 World Cup. It was the first major trophy in the history of Women’s cricket in India at any stage. Speaking of the match, India chased down the small target of 69 runs with ease in 14 overs with seven wickets to spare.
Titas Sadhu won the player of the match award for her top bowling performance. She took two wickets for six runs in four overs. However, after such a historical win, all young players from the Indian team got involved in the celebration with the viral “Kala Chasma” trend. “Kala Chasma” is a viral Bollywood song that has become a trend in recent times.

Speaking of the video, all players from team India were seen showing their moves on the viral “Kala Chasma” song. However, after the win, the Indian Cricket Board’s secretary, Jay Shah came up with a huge announcement for all the players and staff. He said that this year will surely become a path-breaking year for Women after this win.
On Twitter, Jay Shah wrote: “Women’s Cricket in India is on the upswing and the World Cup triumph has taken the stature of women’s cricket several notches higher. I am delighted to announce INR 5 crore for the entire team and support staff as prize money. This is surely a path-breaking year.”
