Fabian Allen showed his class in the eliminator of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). The Jamaica Tallawahs (JT) all-rounder picked up 4-25 in his four overs. His spell changed the game for his side and ensured that they kept St Lucia Kings down (SLK) to a low total which was 125-9 in their 20 overs. He accounted for the wickets of Roston Chase, Sikandar Raza, Roshon Primus and Matthew Forde.

His bowling heroics broke the back of the SLK batting lineup and helped to bundle them out for a below-par total in their 20 overs. The SLK batters could not get going and they could not convert their starts, the best batter for them was Roston Chase who made 40 off 36 balls with four fours and one six. He was the highest scorer of the SLK innings.

St Lucia Kings could score only 125-9 in their 20 overs

Allen has previously proven his worth in the CPL by playing some great innings and also by picking wickets. He also got a contract in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and played a few games for the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). In the second innings, JT got off to s decent start as Brandon King cracked 30 off 19 balls with three fours and two sixes.

Alex Hales hit 24 off 17 balls with three fours and one six. There was a mini-collapse in the middle order after both the openers were dismissed. Steven Taylor and Shamarh Brooks were out for 0 off 1 ball and 6 off 7 balls with one four. Raymon Reifer hit an unbeaten 30 off 32 balls with one four and one six to take JLT through.

Forde picked up 4-23 in his four overs spell for SLK in the second innings. But his amazing effort with the ball was not enough as JLT won the game by 5 wickets and also 16 balls to spare. This means SLK will end their stint in the CPL. JLT will go through to the second qualifier and they will face either Guyana Amazon Warriors (GAW) or Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) in qualifier 1 which will take place on September 21.
