Babar Azam & co. locked horns against Sri Lanka in the last match of the super-4 round ahead of the final of the 15th edition of the tournament. Notably, Pakistan and Sri Lanka are also set to face off each other in the title clash for this marquee continental tournament. It was the first time in the tournament when both teams played against each other and Sri Lanka crossed the line.
Other than the result and action of the match, a video of Pakistani skipper Babar Azam has gone viral on social media for his reaction towards the star wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan in the Sri Lankan innings.
All it happened during the 16th over of the inning when Pakistan pacer Hasan Ali was bowling to the Sri Lankan skipper Dasun Shanaka. The second ball of the over went into the hands of wicketkeeper Rizwan. Both Ali and Rizwan appealed to the umpire for the wicket. But field umpire rejected the decision and Rizwan took no time in taking DRS on his own.
Although, it wasn’t seeming to go down well with the skipper Babar Azam and he reacted laughingly to it. In the same sequence, Babar told Rizwan sarcastically, ‘Bhai captain main hun (bro, I am the captain).’ This video is now making rounds over social media within minutes of being shared by a Twitter user

Discussing a bit of detail about the match, then skipper Babar Azam and middle-order batter Mohammed Nawaz were the only batter who crossed the mark of 20+ runs for Pakistan. Babar played a knock of 30 runs whereas Nawaz’s inning ended with a run out at the individual score of 26 runs off 18 balls. Star spinner Wanindu Hasaranga scalped the highest number of three wickets for Sri Lanka. Other than him, Mahesh Theekshana and Pramod Madhushan also scalped two wickets each and bundled up Pakistan only on the score of 121 runs in 19.1 overs.
Although Sri Lanka also didn’t have a good start while chasing the target, they lost their first two wickets only on the score of two runs. But the brilliant half-century knock from Pathum Nissanka of 55 runs off 48 balls alongside crucial 24 and 21 of Bhanuka Rajapaksa and skipper Dasun Shanaka respectively, helped Sri Lanka to be on the finishing line in just 17 overs. Eventually, the official hosts of the tournament won the match by five wickets to keep the winning momentum through to the final of the continental tournament.
