Pakistan is currently dominating the proceedings in the ongoing Super 12 game of the 20-20 World Cup 2022 against Zimbabwe. Apart from a few occasions, the 2009 winners have shown who is the boss at the Optus Stadium in Perth. Talking about the game, the Red Army won the toss and elected to bat first. The team was doing alright as they had lost only three wickets for 95 runs in 13.4 overs.

However, vice-captain, Shadab Khan, who was bowling his last over of the game broke through on the second last ball. He then finished with two back-to-back wickets. On the last ball of his over, skipper Babar Azam took a great catch at slips to send back Regis Chakabva to the shed. In a video that is going viral, the Pakistan skipper dove to his right to complete the catch.

Talking about the game, the Craig Ervine-led side was reduced to 130/8 at the end of the innings. After Shadab Khan's over, Mohammad Wasim Jr took two back-to-back wickets but could complete a hat-trick. Five Zimbabwean batters failed to cross the double-digit mark. In reply, the former champions started poorly as they lost three wickets for 36 runs. The likes of Shadab Khan and Shan Masood stitched a partnership of 52 runs to bring some stability.

However, at the time of writing, Pakistan-born, Sikandar Raza took two back-to-back wickets of Khan and Haider Ali in the 14th over of the game. Currently, Raza has gotten rid of Masood in partnership with wicketkeeper batter Regis Chakabwa. The Green Brigade has currently scored 99/6 in 16.1 overs, needing another 32 runs in 23 balls. Notably, the fans from Pakistan would be having shivers as they saw their side getting all-out on 99 against the same team last year.

For the unversed, Pakistan toured Zimbabwe around April last year. In one of the games, Zimbabwe successfully defended 119 runs by bowling out Pakistan on 99 runs. This performance attracted a lot of criticism for the team from fans and former cricketers.
