On 21 July 2023, the third season of the Global T20 (GT20) Canada kicked off as the first match took place between Mississauga Panthers and Brampton Wolves in the CAA centre, Brampton. However, the Wolves managed to win the match by 44 runs with the help of DLS. Logan Beek won the Player of the Match award.

But, from that match, a video went viral where Pakistan’s wicketkeeper batter, Azam Khan was seen hitting a gigantic six for the Panthers. Speaking of the six, it happened during the 16th over as Hussain Talat came up to bowl. He bowled a short ball and Azam went into the position early as he managed a six through a powerful pull shot over the Deep mid-wicket region.

Speaking of the match, the Wolves skipper, Tim Southee won the toss and opted to bowl first. While batting first, the Panthers got bundled out for 121 runs in 20 overs. Players like Chris Gayle and Shoaib Malik failed as they were in all sorts of trouble after losing three wickets for 23 runs in 4.4 overs. Then, Azam and Navneet Dhaliwal put up a partnership of 57 runs for the fourth wicket before Dhaliwal got out on 29 runs off 32 balls, including one four and one six. Azam continued to hit his shots and scored 65 runs off 55 balls, including five fours and three sixes. For the Wolves, Logan van Beek took four wickets for 12 runs in four overs. 

Along with him, Chris Gayle grabbed two wickets while Jan Frylinck took one wicket. In reply, the Wolves scored 99 runs for nine wickets in nine overs as Aaron Johnson was batting on 48* runs off 26 balls, including five fours and three sixes. Mark Chapman was also unbeaten on 30* runs off 22 balls, including three fours and one six. But, after that, the match got called off due to bad light. Then, as per the DLS, it was found that the revised target was just 56 runs in nine overs for the Wolves. Hence, they won the match by 44 runs and registered their first victory in the tournament.
