Finally, the drought of an international century has ended for former Indian skipper and senior batter Virat Kohli. He played an amazing knock of 122 runs off just 61 balls with 12 boundaries and six massive sixes to his name. This century has arrived for Kohli after a long wait of 3 years. Last time, it was November of 2019 when Kohli scored a century against Bangladesh in a Test match.

Now, he has smashed a century in the recently-concluded match of the super-4 round in Asia Cup 2022 against Afghanistan. Notably, it is the 71st international century for Virat Kohli across all the formats in the international formats.

Apart from the action of the match, a video of Virat Kohli has gone viral over social media. A Twitter user has shared this video on a microblogging site. In this video, the 33-year-old can be heard saying to senior pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar,00 “Abhi hai cricket baaki (Cricket is still remaining in me)”.

Talking about the match, then the Afghanistan coach Mohammed Nabi won the toss and asked the Indians to bat first at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Batting first, the Indian team got a very strong start from the opening pair of KL Rahul and Virat Kohli. They both made a partnership of 119 runs for the first wicket.

Other than Virat’s century, KL Rahul also scored 62 runs off 41 balls with six boundaries and two sixes on his credit. Thanks to these amazing knocks, India posted a big total of 212 runs for the loss of only two wickets. Fareed Ahmed was the only bowler who scalped two wickets for Afghanistan.

While chasing the target, Ibrahim Zadran remained the only batter who played a struggling knock of 64 runs. Other than him, no batter played any fine knock and their batting order collapsed. Afghanistan could score only 111 runs for the loss of eight wickets in eight overs. Eventually, India won the match by a mammoth margin of 101 runs.
