But, due to Covid-19 restrictions, those matches got postponed. So, it was the first time when the fans in Guwahati managed to see the players in action. Rajasthan lost the match by just five runs. But, a fan mocked them by posting a picture of empty seats at the stadium. In reply to that, Rajasthan Royals shared an image of all seats filled by their fans and shut down that fan on social media.

Here is the shared tweet:

Speaking of that tweet shared by the fan, he wrote: “Teams like RR and PBKS are irrelevant in IPL, no doubt why Star sports shows CSK, MI and RCB highlights whole day”. In reply, Rajasthan Royals shared the image and wrote: ‘Okay’ in a sarcastic way. Seeing that, fans went crazy and shared their views. Speaking of the match, Punjab Kings batted first and scored 197 runs for four wickets in 20 overs. In reply, Rajasthan managed only 192 runs for seven wickets.

They fell short by five runs. Nathan Ellis won the Player of the Match award. After the loss, Rajasthan Royals skipper, Sanju Samson claimed that the Punjab side came out with a very positive mindset. He said: "They came out with a really positive mindset, they had a really good powerplay and the momentum just carried on with that. Our bowlers tried to vary their lengths and speed on this small ground. It's a high-scoring venue but we did really well to pull the game a bit back after the start they got. Our bowlers did a reasonably good job."
