Mohammad Amir has always shown great respect toward Virat Kohli by acknowledging his achievements or milestones on social media platforms. However, for that, many Pakistan fans have always criticised him. Amir has always called Kohli the ‘real king’ instead of Babar Azam ‘king.’

Now, a video has gone viral from a program named ‘Hasna Mana Hai with Tabish’ in Geo News where Amir said, "Virat Kohli is the best batsman in the world in this Era." Listening to that, fans shared their views also. The whole statement came up when the anchor of the show asked about his perception of Babar Azam.

Mohammad Amir has dismissed Virat Kohli twice in ODIs

However, the former Pakistan pacer clearly said there is no personal issue with the current Pakistan batter. He just said that perception about a player can vary from person to person. Hence, as per him, Babar Azam is not dangerous in T20s as he is in the other two formats (Tests and One Day). He also said that for Pakistan, Babar is the best batter available right now and wished him good luck to achieve more milestones in the coming days. But, then, he claimed that Virat Kohli is the best batter in the world in this era.

However, both Kohli and Amir have always carried mutual respect between them. During an interview in 2017, Kohli rated Amir as one of the top two or three bowlers that he had faced until then. He said: “In the recent times, Mohammad Amir of Pakistan. He is in the top two or three bowlers in the world and the toughest bowlers I have played in my career. You have to be on your ‘A’ Game when you’re facing him or he will strike. Oustanding! Very good bowler!” Speaking about Kohli facing Amir, the Pakistan pacer has dismissed him twice in ODIs while none in T20Is.
