Former Indian skipper Virat Kohli turns 35 on Sunday, a day when the Indian team is taking on South Africa in the ODI World Cup 2023. Virender Sehwag, the former Indian opener and a teammate of Virat Kohli, came up with his own unique birthday wish on Twitter.
The Indian team is set to play its 8th game of the ODI World Cup 2023 tournament at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. It was already declared by the Bengal Cricket Body that massive celebrations will be carried out to mark Kohli’s special day.
Indian cricket fans are in readiness to mark the special day as a capacity crowd is expected to come to Kolkata. Not only in the stadium but the fans have been wishing the right-handed batting sensation since yesterday on social media.

Sunday was the day when Virat Kohli turned 35 and Virender Sehwag seemed in a poetic mood. The former Indian legend took to Twitter and wrote, “Century haemoglobin ki tarah inki ragon main daudti hai. Virat Kohli has been in tremendous form with the bat during the ODI World Cup 2023 tournament. The 35-year-old scored a memorable century during the game in Pune versus Bangladesh.
During the first game of the ODI World Cup 2023 versus Australia in Chennai, it was Virat Kohli who bailed India out of trouble. The Indian team was at 2/3 in the 2nd over before Virat Kohli scored 85 runs while adding 165 runs for the 4th wicket with KL Rahul.
Virender Sehwag and Virat Kohli played together for India from 2008 till 2013 when Sehwag last played for India. The two players won the 2011 ODI World Cup together and have shared the Delhi dressing room as well.
