After being led by Virat Kohli for all these years, the Bangalore-based franchise are being captained by a new leader this time around. It is safe to say that the Proteas batter has done a good job so far. The fans of the franchise would hope that the Du Plessis leads Bangalore to their maiden title. In the meanwhile, Virender Sehwag tried to decode Bangalore's new approach in this edition.

In the process, he went on to make a bold statement on Virat Kohli as well. The legendary opener spoke about how Virat Kohli used to drop players during his time as the franchise captain. Sehwag stated that the arrival of Sanjay Bangar and Faf has changed Bangalore's thinking. Thus, he pointed out that they have more or less had the same team throughout the tournament.

“The arrival of Sanjay Bangar as head coach and a new captain has changed RCB’s thinking. We have seen how Virat Kohli used to think as he used to drop a player after no performance in 2-3 games. But Bangar and Du Plessis have kept the team almost consistent throughout. Except for Patidar for Anuj Rawat, I don’t think they made any changes due to poor performance,” said Virender Sehwag, while speaking to Cricbuzz.

Further on, the 43-year-old felt that if Bangalore had an Indian captain, then that player would have accepted Kohli's advice under pressure. However, he said that the same hasn't happened due to the presence of Bangar and Du Plessis. Last but not the least, Sehwag also highlighted the fact that Bangar and Kohli share a great bond, and have worked together in the past.

“If an Indian player had been captain and if Virat Kohli had given him some advice, he might have had to accept it under pressure. So this is what has changed with Du Plessis as captain. Sanjay Bangar has also worked with Kohli and he can have a conversation with him about that although he gives advice, the team wants to do something else,” he added.
