Virat Kohli is known as one of the best batters in all three formats. Over the years, he has come up with some epic knocks, especially in the ODI format for Team India. In the last Asia Cup in 2022, he was the highest run-scorer for India. Now, he will be in action again in 2023.

But, still now Kohli has played some top knocks in Asia Cup when the tournament was played in the 50-over format. Ahead of the 2023 ODI World Cup, the former Team India skipper will look to do well in this upcoming Asia Cup.

108 vs Sri Lanka, 2012:

It was the second game of the Asia Cup 2012 as India took on Sri Lanka in Mirpur. While batting first, the Men in Blue scored 304 runs for three wickets in 50 overs. Gautam Gambhir scored 100 runs off 118 balls while Virat Kohli smashed 108 runs off 120 balls. 

Both also put up a 205-run partnership for the second wicket. Kohli smashed seven fours in that knock. In reply, the Lankans got bundled out for 254 runs and lost the game by 50 runs. Kohli also bagged the Player of the Match award.

136 vs Bangladesh, 2014:

During the 2014 Asia Cup, India locked horns with Bangladesh in the second game in Fatullah. The Bangla Tigers batted first and set a 280-run target for Team India. In reply, two wickets fell early but for the third wicket, Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane stitched a partnership of 213 runs.

Kohli got out after scoring 136 runs off 122 balls while Rahane scored 73 runs off 83 balls. Finally, they chased down the target in 49 overs with six wickets in hand. Kohli was adjusted the Player of the Match.

183 vs Pakistan, 2012:

This epic knock came against Pakistan in the fifth match of the 2012 Asia Cup in Mirpur. The Men in Green posted a solid score of 329 runs for six wickets in 50 overs. In reply, India lost Gautam Gambhir for a duck and then, Virat Kohli came out to bat at the number three position.

Then, for the second wicket, Kohli put up a 133-run partnership with Sachin Tendulkar. After that, for the fourth wicket, he and Rohit Sharma stitched a 172-run partnership. Kohli scored 183 runs off 148 balls and India won the game by six wickets with 13 balls to spare. He won the Player of the Match award. Still, now, it has been Kohli’s highest score in ODIs.
