The Indian team is now almost in the semi-finals of the ongoing 20-20 World Cup 2022 after a close win against Bangladesh in the fourth match of their campaign in the eighth edition of the 20-20 World Cup. Just after the conclusion of the match, the player of the game and former Indian skipper, Virat Kohli came up with a heartfelt gesture for Bangla batter Litton Das.
Das smashed a swashbuckling knock of 60 runs off just 27 balls before he fell prey to the run-out on a throw from Indian vice-captain KL Rahul. Notably, Litton Das completed his half-century off just 21 balls. Das was looking in excellent touch with the bat in first seven overs of Bangladesh’s innings before the rain played a villain in the match.
Just after the rain stopped, Indian bowlers made a strong comeback in the match and eventually they succeeded in restricting the Bangla tigers five runs before the revised target.
In the aftermath of India’s win, former Indian skipper Virat Kohli gave a bat to opener Das who stunned everyone with his amazing start with the bat in the powerplay overs.
Chairman of cricket operations, Bangladesh Cricket Board, Jalal Yunus also reacted to this gesture from contemporary Indian batting great.

"When we were sitting in the dining hall, Virat Kohli came and gifted a bat to Litton. According to me, it was a moment of inspiration for Litton. Litton is a class batter. We have seen him play classical shots. He is a brilliant player in Tests and ODIs. Recently, he has started playing well in T20Is as well," Yunus was quoted as saying in BDcrictime.
Speaking of the scenario of knockouts from Group 2, the names of two top teams are still awaited as both India and South Africa are supposed to play their remaining match of the super-12 round.
Although India’s chances are looking very clear as they have already won three matches out of the four they played so far.
