Following India’s defeat against England, former legendary skipper Sunil Gavaskar has also come up with a big statement regarding the future roadmap of India after this World Cup loss.
“Having won the Indian Premier League on his first assignment as the captain, they would have marked Hardik Pandya out as the next captain. Hardik Pandya will definitely take over the team in the future and there will be some retirements, you never know,” said Gavaskar in his statement during the post-match show on Star Sports.
Now, the Indian team will be in action under the captaincy of star all-rounder Hardik Pandya in the three-match T20I series against New Zealand in New Zealand. The big names including the likes of skipper Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have been rested for this assignment. Now, the senior players would be in action during the Test series against Bangladesh following the conclusion of the Hardik-led team’s assignment in New Zealand.
