The on-field spat between Virat Kohli and Jonny Bairstow took the world by storm. It happened on July 3. For the unversed, Kohli had a verbal spat with Bairstow after the latter had missed an inswing delivery from Mohammed Shami. The former Indian skipper was trying to get under his counterpart's skin. However, what followed after was an absolute masterclass from the Yorkshire player.
From 13(61), the right-hander went on to score 106 from just 140 balls. Breaking down, the 2019 World Cup winner scored 93 runs in just 79 balls. The overall innings included 14 fours and two sixes. Before this, the 32-year-old was seen struggling with the bat with the move moving around. The video of Kohli vs Bairstow went viral like a wildfire yesterday.

The impact of the innings was such that the Three Lions managed to reach 284 runs after starting the day on 84/5. This was Jonny's third hundred this year with the first one coming in the Ashes early this year. Although India had taken a big lead of 132, the wicketkeeper batting getting riled up didn't help the visitors.
They could have easily taken a bigger if not for the Englishman scoring a century. Further, it didn't help Kohli when he blew a kiss to Bairstow after taking his catch at slips. Shami managed to get an outside edge which was taken by the 33-year-old. Also, the right-hander could only score 20 runs in the second innings and his poor form continued.
It is difficult to believe for the fans for him to not score even a fifty in the game. After all, the Delhi player had scored a half-century against Leicestershire in the warm-up game. Talking about the game, the World Number Two Test side is leading the game by 257 runs after scoring 120/3. Cheteshwar Pujara is batting on 50 and Rishabh Pant is on 30 at stumps. The former will be looking to score an international century after 2019. For the unversed, Pujara's last century came in January 2019.
This is how Twitter reacted
No idea why #Kohli has to act the way he does. He’s a world class player, but blowing kisses to Bairstow on his way off... Seriously? #ENGvIND

This is a Jonny Bairstow world and we’re just living in it. Virat Kohli really told this guy to be quiet and he responded with one of his best ever hundreds. Don’t play with fire Virat, and Bairstow is red hot right now
