The 54-year-old has been active on social media in the past few days. On Sunday the former pacer from Bengaluru was answering questions asked by fans on Twitter. Just a few days ago, Prasad had written that he wishes to see India win a global tournament in 2024.

Team India had a great 2023 as far as the bilateral series was concerned. It was in the global tournaments that the team failed to do justice to their talents. Australia beat India in the World Test Championships and ODI World Cup finals to win both titles.

Noted former India pacer and bowling coach Venkatesh Prasad was in touch with the fans on Twitter. During a question and answer session, one fan asked who the top three Indian fielders of all time were.

Venkatesh Prasad replied with the names of Mohammed Azharuddin, Suresh Raina, and Jadeja. It isn’t clear which Jadeja he was referring to as both Ajay and Ravindra are known to be great fielders. It was also surprising to note that Virat Kohli and Yuvraj Singh weren’t even mentioned nor was Mohammad Kaif.

Yet another fan asked “Sir do you also think that team India has become the new chokers of World Cricket? As we have just lost the 10th Global Tournament knockout match in the last 10 years”

Coming to the defense of the Indian team, Prasad replied “Chokers not, we have won two-Test series against Australia in Australia, the last one in 2020-21, after 36 all out, I consider that as one of India’s greatest especially with more than half the first choice players missing. But there is certainly something not right about not winning any major tournament in 11 years”
