At the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Thursday, the Rajasthan Royals snapped a two-game losing streak by defeating MS Dhoni's Chennai Super Kings by 32 runs to retake the top spot in the IPL 2023 points standings. In their 200th game, RR secured a crucial victory and snapped CSK's three-game winning streak.

However, the middle-order batsman's heroics were in vain, as Adam Zampa claimed three wickets. Yashasvi Jaiswal had hit 77 runs in 43 balls earlier to help Sanju Samson's team reach 202/5. Shivam Dube smashed a fifty, his third half-century in IPL 2023. In the post-match presentation, Jaiswal was handed the Man of the Match award, and he credited MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli for having taught him a lot about their trade. Yashasvi Jaiswal said, "I've learnt a lot from MS Dhoni bhaiya and Virat Kohli bhaiya".

RR defeated CSK by 32 runs in IPL 2023

In response, despite the efforts of Dube and Ravindra Jadeja, CSK could only muster 170/6. The way CSK started their chase would haunt the four-time IPL champions as Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad could not take advantage of the powerplay.

After Samson brought in his spinners, especially Zampa, who only played because Trent Boult had a niggle. The Australian spinner took 3 wickets while only allowing 22 runs to be scored in 3 overs. Gaikwad, who came close to reaching his fifty with 47 off 29 balls, Dube, with 52 runs, and Jadeja, with 23 runs, could not lead CSK to their fourth straight victory; instead, the Royals snapped their two-game losing streak.
