Chennai Super Kings have made it to the finals of the Indian Premier League yet again. They have now made it twelve times to the playoffs. They beat Gujarat Titans by a slender margin off 15 runs. They will play the finals at the Narendra Modi Stadium at Ahmedabad. They will have to wait for the winner of Qualifier 2. The Yellove Army will be looking to win their fifth title.
Robin Uthappa who has played CSK for two seasons in 2021 and 2022 had received a lot of hate from the Kolkata Knight Riders fans after he was seen supporting CSK in the Qualifier 1 against GT. Uthappa had actually spent a large part of his IPL career at KKR. The fans from Kolkata were fuming when he pledged his loyalties to CSK.
Robin Uthappa has played for both Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings in Indian Premier League
Irfan Pathan also reacted to Uthappa's tweet. I’m not surprised by the hate I’m receiving here for what has been MY experience. Peace and love to you all!! Uthappa wrote on Twitter. To which Irfan said, Hate ko hata mere bhai. Bas pyaar ko dekh. There were a lot of mixed reactions from the fans though with varying comments flowing all over on social media.
Uthappa had spent five years in the Purple and Gold. He was also part of the 2014 winning side along with Gautam Gambhir. The Karnataka batter had a grand stint of five-years there. The right-hander scored 2439 runs at a strike rate of 136.25. He scored 16 fifties for the franchise. Uthappa changed bases to Rajasthan Royals in 2020 after a torrid season in 2019 for KKR.
When Uthappa starred for CSK in 2021 he was a part of the title winning side in that year. CSK rose like a phoenix from the ashes in 2021 after they finished seventh on the points table in 2020. CSK did not have the side to play in different conditions at the UAE that year when the second half of the IPL was shifted there. MS Dhoni has led CSK to four IPL titles.

It's not about hate Robin. You are a great guy and a great player. But with just 2 season with csk you have soo much praises but with kkr?? . Absolutely nothing. It's strange isn't it?

Gambhir played his last for DC.. But his legacy belongs to KKR..
— Anirban (@anirban1986) May 23, 2023
Bhajji played his last with KKR, but his legacy belongs to MI/ CSK.
It's not always about the management.. It's about the fans as well... Respect the fan's feelings..
However the team treated you at the end, don’t forget years when you were backed, won orange cap, 2 titles. Have sone respect for Kkr fans who supported you, they aren’t even asking much, just respect and less hate for Kkr. Stay happy 😊

No , hang on there look sir anyway Yes ofcourse MI & CSK will dominate the IPL because of there rich history and achievements! But I think that you have achieved much more for KKR than with CSK for 1 year over there @robbieuthappa

Nobody wants to hate you, you are only taking digs. We have forgotten your terrible knocks and remember only your good times at KKR now, but you keep reminding us of those times by taking sly.

Jiss thaali me khaaya usme chedd nhi karte. Just because they didn't retain you after having a bad year, you can't disrespect the love that they gave you for 6 years. By being salty, you're not only disrespecting the franchise but also the fans.
