Two legends get inducted into Bangalore's 'Hall of Fame'

Bangalore are arguably one of the most popular teams in the Indian T20 League. Over the years, they have had several stalwarts who have represented the franchise. Thus, they have now introduced their 'Hall of Fame'.

This is for their former players, who have won several matches for the Bangalore-based franchise. The first two recipients of this honour were Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers. Both these legends have gone on to be synonymous with Bangalore. While the Universe Boss Gayle represented them for seven years, De Villiers was a part of Bangalore for 11 years.

During the event, Virat Kohli spoke about his bond with Gayle and ABD. It is to be noted that both of them played under the Indian batter for several years in the cash-rich league. As a matter of fact, the trio of Kohli, Gayle and De Villiers were one of the most iconic trios of all time.

While speaking about his inclusion into Bangalore's hall of fame, the former Proteas batter drew light on his journey with the franchise. He also stated that it was an emotional privilege to be a part of this hall of fame. Further on, De Villiers thanked Kohli for his kind words.

"To the boys sitting there, what an amazing privilege. Quite emotional, to be honest. I've been a little out of cricket, as you know. Just watching you guys on TV really gets me excited about the things that's still coming in the season, I believe it is going to be a special one.

Virat, thanks for the kind words and everyone from the franchise who set this up, this is a really special touch. We had some amazing time together as a team. Sun has moved on for Chris and I, but we are very much part of the family," said AB de Villiers in the virtual conference call.
