The 47th game of the Indian T20 league 2022 saw Kolkata beat Rajasthan by seven wickets. This victory comes as a huge sigh of relief for the fans of the two-time champions. As for Rajasthan, they have now lost four out of their ten games.
After winning the toss and electing to bowl first, Kolkata's bowlers were superb with the new ball. They barely gave any breathing space to Rajasthan's openers. The fact that they kept the in-form batter Jos Buttler silent showed how good they were.
Umesh Yadav took the first wicket for his side as he dismissed Devudtt Padikkal for just two runs. The Rajasthan-based franchise were only able to score 38 runs in the first six overs. Buttler was then dismissed in the ninth over after scoring 22. He consumed 25 balls for the same.
In the meanwhile, Rajasthan's skipper Sanju Samson looked positive, and played some eye-catching shots. However, he seemingly ran out of fuel. While he got to his half-century in 38 balls. The next 11 balls saw him score just four runs. Thus, he was dismissed in the 18th over of the first innings. However, Shimron Hetmyer smashed some lusty blows towards the end.
He scored an unbeaten 27 from 13 balls. Hetmyer's knock consisted of one boundary and two sixes. This propelled the 2008-champions to 152-5 in the first innings. Although he didn't pick any wickets, Sunil Narine was brilliant as he only gave 19 runs in his full quota of four overs. As for the second innings, Kolkata's openers were unimpressive once again.
It is to be noted that the Kolkata-based franchise had a new opening combination. Aaron Finch was accompanied by Baba Indrajith. Both of them had to prematurely return to the pavilion. Trent Boult was superb as he picked two wickets in his four overs, while giving just 25 runs. Kolkata could only score 32 runs in the powerplay overs. Shreyas Iyer and Nitish Rana then added 90 runs before the Kolkata skipper had to depart in the 13th over.
It was Boult who got the better of him. Nevertheless, Rana continued to play his shots. He and Rinku Singh joined hands to ensure that Kolkata end up on the winning side. They chased their total with five balls to spare. Singh ended up scoring a 23-ball 42. Several users took to Twitter to speak about the game.

152 ,158 & 144 last 3 scores for RR with the bat. They have to find a way to get back to those 180βs and 190βs.Buttler dismissal happening sometime in first over in future matches wonβt sit well with them.Hopefully not another season with a good start ending up with disappointment

Most of the KKR fans (and others too) keep hating on Nitish Rana but he has been their most successful batsman after Russell this season.

That was a good over from Prasidh. π If you give wrong wide calls and keep extending a death over, even the best in the world will falter. Plus, he can't go and field for Trent Boult too

RR were dominating 6/8 wins then they went on to lose against mi who had 8 defeats & then kkr who had 5 straight defeats
