The 40th game of the Indian T20 league 2022 went right down to the wire. It was Gujarat who emerged victorious towards the end as they beat Hyderabad by five wickets. As they needed nine runs to win from the last two balls, Rashid Khan struck two sixes to seal the deal for the Hardik Pandya-led side.
As for Hyderabad, it was disappointing as they were in a dominant position. While Marco Jansen had to defend 22 runs in the final over, he failed to do so. During the 20th over, Muttiah Muralitharan was seen fuming as well. After Rashid hit a six in the same over, the Sri Lankan legend got up from his seat in the dugout, and was seemingly frustrated.
This took the fans by surprise as they always considered Muralitharan to be a calm guy. Even during his playing days, the legendary spinner was one of the coolest cricketers. Thus, the video of him losing his cool went viral in no time. The fans started comparing his reaction to that of Rahul Dravid, who showed his frustration in a similar manner in 2014. It was when he was Rajasthan's mentor
Like Muralitharan, the Indian legend is a calm person, and seldom lets his emotions get the better of him. However, during a game between Rajasthan and Mumbai, Dravid was seen throwing his cap out of anger. It was when the 2008-champions had to ensure that Mumbai don't chase their target in 14.3 overs. Besides, Rajasthan had set them a target of 190.
While everyone expected them to defend it rather easily, Corey Anderson's 44-ball 95 ensured that the Rohit Sharma-led side scored 189 in 14.3 overs. After the Rajasthan camp began to celebrate as Mumbai couldn't score 190 in 14.3 over, it was later revealed that Mumbai could still qualify for the playoffs ahead of Rajasthan if they were to hit a boundary in the next ball.
In what turned out to be an absolute fairytale, Mumbai's Aditya Tare hit a six off the fourth ball of the 15th over and thus, Rajasthan were knocked out of the tournament. After which, Dravid lost his cool. Thus, fans compared this to Muralitharan losing his cool on Wednesday. The Indian T20 league is so competitive that even the calmest people can't control their emotions.

Some people can continue to live in denial but the truth is that there is no other tournament/series that's more valuable than the IPL in world cricket.

We have seen Dravid and Dhoni lose their cool in the past. Tonight, we saw Muttiah Muralitharan joining that list.
