Sri Lanka and Pakistan locked horns in the title clash of the Asia Cup 2022 where the Islanders completely outplayed the men in green to clinch the title for the sixth time in the history of the Asia Cup. Pakistani skipper Babar Azam won the toss and asked the Sri Lankans to bat first at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
Batting first, Dasun Shanak’s men posted a decent total of 170 runs for the loss of six wickets in the allotted 20 overs. While chasing the target, the Pakistani side couldn’t cross the line and scored only 147 runs by losing all the wickets in the complete 20 overs.
Many former cricketers of Pakistan have lashed out at the poor outing of the middle-order in such a crucial match in a major international tournament. Meanwhile, former skipper and veteran batter Shoaib Malik has come up with something which divided the Pakistani fans on Twitter into multiple opinions.
Malik went on to tweet after Sri Lanka’s win in the final with the words, “When will we come out from friendship, liking & disliking culture. Allah always helps the honest.”
Although this tweet didn’t go down well with the Pakistani cricket fans who were already in anger over the team’s defeat in the final of the Asia Cup 2022. They took to Twitter for going harsh with the veteran cricketer due to his remarks after the result of the match.
