After winning the toss and electing to field first, Royal Challengers Bangalore started off brilliantly, dismissing the dangerous Ruturaj Gaikwad for just three runs of six balls. Ruturaj Gaikwad has experienced a dip in form after a great scoring run in the first three games for CSK in IPL 2023. He scored 8 off 10 balls against Rajasthan Royals and has now been dismissed for three in the second-consecutive batting failure.

'I think he could be the captain of CSK after MS Dhoni' – Kedar Jadhav

Ruturaj Gaikwad, a youthful opener for the Chennai Super Kings, will likely succeed MS Dhoni as the team's captain, according to former player Kedar Jadhav. Dhoni has been a member of the squad since its inception in the first season of the Indian Premier League in 2008 when he captained the Chennai-based franchise for the 200th time against Rajasthan Royals.

The CSK opener is the most likely contender to succeed the famous captain, said Kedar Jadhav, an IPL 2023 commentary team member. "I think Ruturaj Gaikwad could be the captain of CSK after MS Dhoni. Ben Stokes is also another potential captain along with Ravindra Jadeja. But for that, Stokes has to play really well for CSK this year. Availability is another issue. So I think Rituraj Gaikwad is the best option to captain CSK after MS Dhoni," Jadav said on Jio Cinema. Ben Stokes, in replacement for MS Dhoni, is another captaincy possibility for the Chennai Super Kings, according to Kedar Jadhav. Additionally, Stokes is also the England Test team's captain.
