‘Tujhe beech mein bolne ko bola kisine?’ - Fans slam Pakistan journalist for his brutal attack on India over their squad selection for West Indies tour

India are all set to visit West Indies for a two-match Test, three-match ODI, and five-match T20I series. So, on 23 June 2023, the squad for the Test and ODI series got announced by the Indian Cricket Board. However, some names like Cheteshwar Pujara got dropped from the Test squad. While Mohammed Shami got rested from both squads.

Jaydev Unadkat got preference over Arshdeep Singh in the ODI squad. Ajinkya Rahane got named as the vice-captain in Tests also. Sanju Samson made a comeback in the ODI squad while Yashasvi Jaiswal got a chance in the Test squad. Meanwhile, Ruturaj Gaikwad made a spot in both the ODI and Test squads. 

But, still, there were players like Abhimanyu Easwaran and Sarfaraz Khan who still failed to get a place despite scoring a lot of runs in the domestic arena over the last few years. Now, regarding that, the well-known Pakistan journalist, Fatehrid Khan came up with a tweet with a brutal attack on Team India’s selection. He claimed that India should be ashamed for neglecting talented players who have performed consistently in domestic tournaments like the Ranji Trophy. 

He also said that players are getting selected only on the basis of performances in IPL. Speaking of the tweet, he wrote: “India mein asal mein sirf IPL ke basis pe selection hoti hay. IPL performers ko Test squad mein bhi daal rahe hain! What about domestic performers? What about Ranji Trophy's numbers? Where's Sarfaraz Khan and where is Abhimanyu Easwaran? Have some shame #WIvIND.”

The tour will kick off on 12 July 2023

However, the tweet did not go well with the Team India fans as they slammed the Pakistan journalist for commenting on their team’s selection. Speaking of the series, it will kick off on 12 July with the Test series. This series will begin the journey of the Men in Blue in the new World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 cycle.
