However, Rohit Sharma has a decent record in International cricket against Amir. In ODIs, Amir dismissed him only once and that also came in the 2017 Champions Trophy Final. But, in T20Is, Amir showed domination by dismissing him twice while conceding only one run. However, Rohit Sharma gave a bold statement about Amir in 2016 before India vs Pakistan clash in the 20-20 World Cup at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.

While talking to reporters, he said: “Stop talking about him already. He isn’t the only bowler, Pakistan have five other bowlers who are doing well for them. There is just so much hype around him, I don’t think it is right to give him too much hype after one match. He is good but he needs to prove it over and over again. Now people are comparing him to Wasim Akram and all that. He is just a normal bowler, on that given day if he is good, he is good. It is not as if he turns up and blows everyone away." However, in that clash, Amir took his wicket. But, people have always slammed Amir for getting involved in fixing during the early days of his career.
