It was a great comeback: Sarfaraz Ahmed

After scoring three consecutive fifties in three innings against the Kiwis, the right-handed batter scored a century during the fourth innings over the course of two matches, making a statement to the team management and for the world as well. After bagging the Player of the Series award, Sarfaraz said that it was a great comeback for him after being benched for so long.

“It was a great comeback, I've been part of the team for a long while, but I was waiting for a chance in the playing XI. The management gave me a lot of confidence when I went out to bat, thankful for everyone for keeping faith in me. The plan was to play according to the merit of the ball, a few more runs here and there, the result could have been different,” Sarfaraz was quoted as saying after the second Test which ended in a draw.
