20-20 World Cup 2022 is all set to commence in Australia on the 16th of October two days later. All participating teams have announced their squads for the marquee tournament. A total of 12 teams will be competing for the coveted title in the eighth edition of the 20-20 World Cup. The prestigious T20I tournament has witnessed various champions throughout the 15-year-journey so far.
World’s renowned batters will be playing for their respective teams in the tournament. With said that, here we’ll have a look at five non-Australian batters who have scored the most T20I runs on Australian soil.

Virat Kohli – India
Former Indian skipper and senior batter Virat Kohli has recently made a stunning comeback to his batting during the Asia Cup 2022 with a swashbuckling century against Afghanistan. He has a lot of batting records to his name in international cricket.
In the same sequence, the 33-year-old has the highest T20I runs to his name in T20I cricket in Australia. Virat has scored 451 runs on Australian soil in the shortest format of the game. He will be in action for the Indian team in the eighth edition of the 20-20 World cup.
Shikhar Dhawan – India
Senior Indian southpaw is not a part of the plans of the Indian camp in the upcoming 20-20 World Cup 2022. Although, he has played a lot of T20I cricket in Australia. The Delhi batter has scored 271 T20I runs in Australia while playing for India.
Dhawan was in the role of a stand-in skipper for the Indian team in the recently-concluded ODI series against South Africa. The men in blue registered an emphatic win by 2-1 in the series against the Proteas.
JP Duminy – South Africa
Former South African batting all-rounder Jean-Paul Duminy has delivered a lot to the national side of his country. He has played a lot of cricket for the Proteas including 81 matches in the shortest format of the game.
Speaking of his records on Australian soil, then he has scored 204 T20I runs and is on the third spot in the list of non-Australian high-scorers in Australia. The 38-year-old played 81 T20Is for South Africa and scored 1934 runs with a good average of 38.68 having 11 half-centuries to his name.
Jos Buttler – England
England’s white-ball skipper Jos Buttler has been one of the most dangerous T20I batters of late. He impressed everyone with his stellar performances in the 2022 edition of the Indian T20 League. Buttler has a handsome T20I career to his name while playing for the national side of England.
Looking at his batting records in Australia, Buttler has scored 186 runs for England while playing in the Aussie backyard. Other than this, the senior wicketkeeper-batter has scored 2377 runs in 97 matches with an average of 33.95 having a century 17 half-centuries in his account.
Pathum Nissanka
The 24-year-old opener Pathum Nissanka made his first international appearance for Sri Lanka last year in 2021. Since then, he has played 29 T20I to score 801 runs with an average of 29.66 having seven half-centuries with his bat.
Nissanka has also played a couple of matches for the Lankan team in Australia. In these matches, he has scored 184 runs and stands fifth in the list of five non-Australians who have scored the highest runs in Australia.
