‘Toilet jana tha isliye wicket phek ke chal diya’ - Fans troll Rohit Sharma for yet another failure against KKR in IPL 2023

Mumbai Indians (MI) locked horns with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the ongoing IPL on 16 April 2023. Rohit Sharma and his men were looking for their second win of the season in front of the home crowd. The MI skipper had a brilliant game against Delhi Capitals (DC) as he scored 65 runs off 45 balls.

So, fans were hoping to see him in action against KKR at Wankhede. But, fans were left confused as Suryakumar Yadav came out for the toss alongside the KKR skipper Nitish Rana. At the toss, the stand-in skipper said that Rohit Sharma missed the playing XI due to a stomach bug.

However, Rohit Sharma was on the impact player list. Speaking of the match, KKR batted first and scored 185 runs for six wickets in 20 overs. Venkatesh Iyer scored 104 runs off 51 balls, including six fours and nine sixes. Apart from him, only Andre Russell scored 21* runs off 11 balls. For MI, Hrithik Shokeen took two wickets while Cameron Green, Riley Meredith, Piyush Chawla, and Duan Jansen took one wicket each. After that, fans were waiting for whether Rohit came in to bat as an impact player or not.

However, fans went crazy when Rohit came out to bat along with Ishan Kishan. Rohit Sharma came in as an impact player in place of Riley Meredith. Both batters managed a great start against KKR bowlers. But, Rohit Sharma scored only 20 runs off 13 balls, including one four and two sixes. Suyash Sharma took his wicket as Umesh Yadav grabbed a top catch to complete the dismissal. Seeing such a failure from the MI skipper, fans went crazy and slammed him on social media. While chasing 186 runs, MI scored 72 runs for one wicket in the first six overs. Ishan Kishan got out after scoring 58 runs off 25 balls, including five fours and five sixes.
