New Zealand all-rounder, Kyle Jamieson has been ruled out of the upcoming Indian T20 League 2023. He has been missing the game since picking up a stress fracture during New Zealand tour of England last year. After waiting for months on the sidelines, the lanky player was set to make his international in the ongoing home series against England. Before this, he was picked by Chennai for the biggest T20 League.

However, with only one and a half months left, Jamison has been ruled out of the Test series against England. The latest updates suggest that the right-hander has been ruled out for three to four months. With this, Chennai has gotten the biggest jolt and would look to replace Jamison for the upcoming season. In this listicle, let's have a look at three possible candidates to replace Jamison.

1. Tom Curran

The England all-rounder and the brother of Sam Curran went unsold during the 2023 player auction. On the other hand, Tom's brother Sam became the costliest player in the history of the league as the latter was picked by Punjab.

However, the former did well in the International League T20 for the Desert Vipers with the bat and ball. Currently, he is playing in the ongoing Pakistan Super League. With him getting the feel of the Asian conditions in recent times, he can be a contender for playing in the India T20 League 2023

The Sri Lanka skipper has done brilliantly against India in T20I cricket. After playing 22 games, the right-hander has amassed 430 runs in the lower-middle order. He strikes at 140.98.

Talking about his numbers in India, he has played 16 games and has 378 runs to his name. Shanaka's strike rate has been 149.40. Not to forget, he can bowl some decent overs in the middle phase of innings.

3. Jimmy Neesham

The Kiwi all-rounder has played for a few teams in the cash-rich league. Last year, he played for the finalists, Rajasthan. However, in December last year, he went unsold.

With Jamieson being ruled out and Neesham having plenty of T20 experience, he might be in consideration. It will be interesting to see which one of these players gets the nod from the Chennai management.
