Chennai have been struggling in the Indian T20 league 2022 so far. Out of their first six games, they have only been able to win one of them. The absence of Deepak Chahar hasn't helped their cause either.
However, several experts pointed out the fact that Chennai let go of a few of their match-winners. If Chennai had bought back these players during the mega auction, they would have certainly managed to win a few more games. Besides these individuals are currently doing well for their respective teams. Today, we shall be taking a look at three former Chennai players who are performing well for their new franchise.
1) Faf du Plessis:
Faf du Plessis is the newly-appointed skipper of the Bangalore-based franchise. He has done a brilliant job as a captain for them so far. The 2016-finalists have won five out of their seven games.
As far as his batting is concerned, he has been fairly decent. The Proteas batter has scored two fifties in the seven games. While both of them came when his side were struggling, his second half-century turned out to be a match-winning knock.
2) Josh Hazlewood:
Josh Hazlewood is unarguably one of the most improved T20 bowlers. His addition has been a boon to the Bangalore-based franchise. In just three games, he has already made his presence felt.
The Aussie pacer has already picked up eight wickets at an average of 10.75. As a matter of fact, he registered his best bowling figures in the Indian T20 league during Bangalore's recent game against Lucknow. He took an amazing four-fer.
3) Shardul Thakur:
Shardul Thakur is currently one of the most impactful all-rounders in India. He has a knack for making things happen. He has been superb for the Delhi-based franchise so far.
While he hasn't been at his best with the ball as of now, his exploits with the bat have been fabulous. He has already hit a few noteworthy cameos in this edition. Thus, it won't be surprising if he starts to single-handedly win games for the Rishabh Pant-led side in the upcoming matches of this edition.
