In what comes as big news, Gujarat have announced Rashid Khan as their vice-captain for Indian T20 League 2022. This new franchise was absolutely superb during the mega auction as they managed to buy some top-class players. However, the Afghanistan superstar was among the there players signed by the team prior to the mega auction.

It is to be noted that Rashid has been one of the best bowlers in the last few editions of the Indian T20 league. He represented Hyderabad for five years, and was one of their key players. Yet, the 2016-champions did not retain him, and Gujarat took advantage of the same.
The Gujarat-based franchise took to Twitter to announce him as the vice-captain of their team. They posted a video where their captain Hardik Pandya was seen announcing the same. The entire team was seen applauding the leggie for being given the added responsibility.

They have now given him the added responsibility by making him Pandya's deputy. The spinner isn't new to the responsibilities of being a part of the leadership group as he has led Afghanistan in the past as well. Besides, he's a T20 veteran, and has been playing for quite a while now.

Despite being just 23, he has played 76 games in the Indian T20 league so far. Rashid has picked 93 wickets in this league at an average of 20.56. This includes a micerly economy rate of 6.33. Thus, it will be exciting to see him play for a new side this time around.
As far as Gujarat are concerned, then they shall face Lucknow on March 28. Both these times will be making their debut in the cash-rich league. Moreover, Pandya would be rearing to get on the field, and display his captaincy skills.
