India won the first match of the group stage in the Asia Cup 2022 against Pakistan and then went on to clinch a win against Hong Kong. However, the Men in Green bounced back to defeat India in the Super 4 round. Albeit fans were upset, a few former cricketers admitted that the team might not make it to the finals.

Virender Sehwag, the former Indian cricketer, has opined that the team might be out of the tournament if they lose yet another match. Justifying his statement, the Indian team has lost the first match of the Asia Cup Super 4 round and another loss here might make it tough for India.

Sehwag said that the Indian team should be cautious in their approach and not lose any games going further. The former cricketer opined that the year might be Pakistan’s year and predicted that the team might win the title.

“If India lose another match by chance, they will be out of the tournament. Pakistan have the advantage because if they lose one match and win another, their net run rate will take them to the final as they have lost one match and won two. India have lost one and if they lose another, they are out. So pressure is on India. Pakistan will play in the final after a long time and have also beaten India after a long time in the Asia Cup,” he said.

There's a class in the other team as well: Rohit Sharma

Post the clash, the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma said that it was an off day for the team. He acknowledged the class in Pakistan's squad and lauded the team for their outstanding performance.

"It's a high-pressure game we know that. You've got to be at it every time. A game like that can take a lot. We were calm even when there was a partnership between Rizwan and Nawaz. But that partnership obviously went a little long and they batted brilliantly," Sharma said.

"There's a class in the other team as well. And we're not surprised with that. We understand the pitch gets slightly better in the second innings. It's a good learning for us," he concluded.
