Speaking of the match, the opening pair of skipper Jos Buttler and senior batter, Alex Hales provided a strong start to England with an amazing partnership of 81 runs for the first wicket. Buttler played a brilliant captaincy knock of 73 runs off 47 balls with seven boundaries and two sixes to his name. Hales assisted Jos by smashing a knock of 52 runs off 40 balls with seven boundaries and a maximum on his credit.
Riding on these knocks, the three lions posted a total of 179 runs losing six wickets in the first 20 overs of the match. While chasing the target, New Zealand couldn’t cross the finishing line and fell runs short of the target. Eventually, Jos Buttler’s men won the match by runs and registered their second win in the fourth match in the tournament.
