Star Indian batter Suryakumar Yadav has stunned everyone with his stellar performances in the last couple of matches, his 76-run knock against West Indies in the third of the five-match T20I series has helped India to gain a lead of 2-1 in the series with an emphatic win. Apart from this, he has also scored a magnificent century of 117 runs in the previous T20I series against England.
The 31-year-old also won the award of player of the match for his excellent outing against the hosts in the third fixture of the series. Suryakumar went on to smash eight boundaries and four sixes. The Mumbai-based batter proved his worth at the opening slot for India as coach and captain went on to do an experiment with the latter’s batting position.
On the grounds of his batting heroics, Surya has climbed to the second spot in the international batters ranking in T20I cricket. Although, it didn’t go well with Pakistan as the Indian batter surpassed star Pakistani wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan. They took to Twitter for accusing ICC to be biased in the calculation of Rankings.
Pakistani fans are not satisfied with the criteria of cricket's governing body in the ranking of Suryakumar
Notably, the Pakistani skipper Babar Azam is the only batter who is ahead of Suryakumar in the rankings. He also surpassed the senior Pakistan batter Mohammad Rizwan. Suryakumar has achieved 794 rating points whereas Rizwan has dropped to the third spot with 794 points. And Babar is in the top spot with 816 points.
It is a big achievement for the Indian right-hander that he has reached the best ever ranking of his international career. This rise in Yadav’s ranking happened on the grounds of his amazing century against England in Nottingham.
The sudden rise in the ranking of Suryakumar Yadav left the Pakistani fans uneasy. They came up with an argument that Rizwan has gone through a long time to secure number two in the batters’ rankings then how the Indian batter reached the second spot too early.
Here's how Twitter reacted to the rise of Suryakumar Yadav in rankings:
