Pakistan and Netherlands locked horns in the 29th match of the ongoing 20-20 World Cup 2o22. Dutch skipper Scott Edwards won the flip of the coin and decided to bat first at a bit bouncy turf of the Perth Stadium. Shaheen Afridi managed to give the first blow to the Netherlands in the third over by scalping the wicket of senior batter Stephen MyBurgh.
Apart from this, it was a day to forget for the young Dutch all-rounder Bas de Leede who ended up on the receiving end of a nasty hit on Haris Rauf’s Bouncer. The hit came as an injury for de Leede, and he had to leave the field due to the severity of the injury.
Later, the 22-year-old was taken to medical supervision followed by some stitches on the area where the ball struck under his eye. Cut to the result of the match, Pakistan registered a victory by six wickets by chasing the target in 13.5 overs.
Apart from the action of the match, a gesture from premier Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf for the injured Bas de Leede has gone viral over social media. In the video, Haris and de Leede can be seen hugging each and the former wished a speedy recovery to the young Dutch all-rounder.
“Come back Stronger,” said Haris to de Leede.
