Indian skipper Rohit Sharma is enduring a poor run of form during the ongoing 20-20 World Cup as he has scored only one half-century and that too against the minnows like the Netherlands in the second match of India in their campaign in the marquee tournament. The 35-year-old fell prey to Bangladesh pacer Hasan Mahmud only on the individual score of 2 runs off eight balls.
These performances from the Indian skipper haven’t gone down well with Indian cricket fans. They took no time in lashing out at him on the social media platform, Twitter, and criticizing him for a continuous poor string of runs.
Here’s how fans reacted:
Gorgeous gorgeous just 2 runs off 8 balls against Bangladesh, Ladies and Gentlemen NBDC pro Rohit Sharma for you 🔥🙈 #INDvBAN pic.twitter.com/Z4NDZV6Nkw

Rohit Sharma doesn't even look intrested in scoring runs. The hunger to score is missing. 💔

Rohit Sharma looks completely out of touch, we need him to fire in the big games. #RohitSharma

Rohit sharma is officially the most finished player of all time and I'm not even trolling. He's 36 and not fit enough so it's understandable. Man got dropped thrice to score a 50 vs Netherlands.

Speaking of the match, senior batter KL Rahul who was out of form in the first three matches in the ongoing 20-20 World Cup 2022, marked his comeback with a brilliant half-century knock of 50 runs off 32 balls with three boundaries and four sixes to his name. Other than Rahul, former skipper and senior batter Virat Kohli also came up with another amazing half-century in the current edition of the 20-20 World Cup.
The 33-year-old smashed a knock of 64 runs off 44 balls with eight boundaries and a maximum on his credit. Following these knocks, the short cameo of 30 runs off 16 balls with four boundaries from world number T20I batter, Suryakumar Yadav helped India to post a decent total of 184 runs for the loss of six wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
Bangladesh’s run chase has also begun at the time of filling this copy, they have scored 10 runs for no loss with two brilliant boundaries from opener Litton Das.
