The heated exchange of tweets and statements within the Indo-Pak cricketing fraternity is reaching the next level with every passing day for the last couple of days since both South Asian teams appeared in the semi-finals of the 20-20 World Cup 2022 against New Zealand and England respectively.
In the same line of events, Pakistan and England locked horns in the title clash of the eighth edition of the 20-20 World Cup where the three lions registered a dominating win against Babar’s men. Following this defeat of Pakistan, former legendary pacer Shoaib Akhtar took to express his disappointment after the defeat of 2009 20-20 World Cup winners.
Akhtar only posted an emoji of a broken heart on his official Twitter handle. The 47-year-old former legend’s disappointment gave a chance to senior pacer Mohammed Shami to take a dig.
For the unversed, Shoaib Akhtar went on to criticize the selection of Mohammed Shami in the Indian squad for the 20-20 World Cup 2022 as a replacement for the injured senior pacer Jasprit Bumrah.
“Pata nahin Shami ko kahan se utha kar le aaye (I don’t know from where they brought Shami),” said Akhtar in a video on his YouTube channel.
Recalling that comment from Akhtar, Shami quoted the latter’s most recent tweet after Pakistan’s defeat to take a brutal dig.
“Sorry brother, it’s call karma,” reads the tweet posted by Shami while reacting to Akhtar’s tweet in the aftermath of England’s World Cup win against Pakistan.
Sorry brother

The comments from Mohammed Shami also made some of the Indian cricket fans involved in the entire discussion. Subsequently, the Indian fans took no time in laughing at the former Pakistan pacer and appreciating Shami’s stance over the same.
Here’s how Indian fans reacted to Shami’s reaction to Akhtar’s tweet:
