Australia and India are currently clashing against each other World Test Championship (WTC 2023) final at The Oval, and Australia has strengthened its hold in the contest. Australians concluded Day 3 with 123 for 4 in the second innings with a lead of 296 runs. India will undoubtedly be given a total of around 400 runs to chase, and it's possible that it may exceed the 500-run mark.

India must perform at their absolute best in the next six full sessions of the game. India’s top-order failed horribly in the first innings as no other batter except Ajinkya Rahane could provide anything special to the scoreboard. Rahane stitched a brilliant 71-run partnership with the no. 1 Test allrounder Ravindra Jadeja. After this, Rahane continued his brilliance and stitched another outstanding partnership of 109 runs with Shardul Thakur. During the knock, Rahane suffered some painful blows on his hand and he talked about those blows after the conclusion of the 3rd day.

“Painful but quite manageable (blow to his finger). Don't think it'll affect batting. Happy with the way I batted. Had a good today. We were looking to get 320-330 but overall we had a good day. Bowling wise we bowled well. Everyone chipped in. That was a really good catch. We all know he's a really good fielder. Has a big reach.” Rahane was quoted as saying by Cricket Times.

“Australia is slightly ahead in the game. For us, it's important to be in the moment, play session by session. The first hour will be crucial tomorrow. We know funny things can happen. Jadeja bowled really well, footmarks helped him against the left-hander. Still feel a wicket will help seam bowlers.” Rahane said.
