SWOT analysis of Bangladesh Team ahead of 2023 ODI World Cup 

Bangladesh will be one of the teams that will head into the 2023 ODI World Cup as underdogs. The Tigers have never finished beyond the seventh spot in their World Cup history and will be looking to change that record in this edition by spoiling the party of some favourites. They also had a disappointing campaign in the recently concluded Asia Cup, but their win over defending champions India showed their potential to turn their fortunes around.

Recently, the Bangladesh team was embroiled in some dramatic scenes after the veteran batter Tamim Iqbal was dropped from the 15-man World Cup squad. Bangladesh have one of the strongest spin bowling units in the upcoming World Cup. Led by captain and all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, they have four spinners who can bowl a quota of ten overs. With the Indian pitches supporting the spinners more, Bangladesh will fancy their chances to upset some of the big names. Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Nasum Ahmed, and Sheikh Mahedi Hasan can trouble any top-class batting line-up.

Weaknesses - Injuries, Top order concern 

Injuries to key players like Tamim Iqbal and Ebadot Hossain are a big blow for Bangladesh. While Iqbal's absence has made their top-order fragile, Hossain's absence will weaken their pace attack. Former captain Iqbal has been Bangladesh's batting strength, but with Litton Das also performing inconsistently recently, Bangladesh have serious concerns about their top order.

Opportunities - Can upset giants of cricket

Bangladesh will enter the tournament as underdogs and unlike other big teams, they have nothing to lose. Their never-give-up mentality to fight till the last bowl of the innings can surprise anyone on their day. Familiarity with Indian conditions and a quality spin attack will give them a boost.
