Young pace bowling sensation from J&K Umran Malik has stunned the cricketing fraternity with his amazing bowling skills and sheer pace. He impressed the Indian selectors with his stellar performances in the 2022 edition of the Indian T20 League. On the back of his outings in the cash-rich Indian T20 League, the 23-year-old got his maiden call-up for the national side of India for the T20I series earlier this year in the month of June.
Umran has caught the eyeballs of the former greats of the game alongside cricket fans and experts. Former legendary Indian skipper Sunil Gavaskar is one of the big admirers of Umran. Following the conclusion of the 15th edition of the Indian T20 League, the 73-year-old predicted that the J&K prodigy would get a call for the national side of India.
But recently, the 1983 World Cup winner batter took the extra mile ahead and said that Umran has excited him the most after the former legendary batter Sachin Tendulkar.
“One player I am most excited to see playing for India after Sachin Tendulkar is Umran Malik,” said Gavaskar during the pre-match show on Sony Liv.
Although this comment from Sunil Gavaskar gave a chance to the fans to troll the batting great. They came up with multiple reactions on the social media platform, Twitter.
Here’s how fans reacted to Gavaskar’s analysis of Umran Malik:
