One more possible reason behind his discomfort could also be a suspected gastritis problem. As of now, it is uncertain as to how long the Sri Lankan cricketer will be at the hospital and there are doubts over his participation further into the Test match.
Notably, the Sri Lanka batter fared well with the bat in the first Test of the series. He scored a handy half-century in the first innings of the Test match and, followed, it with a 48-run knock in 43 deliveries in Sri Lanka’s second innings. The match, though, resulted in a draw.
Sri Lanka batted first in that Test and managed to post a 397-run total, thanks to a sensational 199-run knock in just 397 balls. In reply, Bangladesh batted exceedingly well and posted a huge score of 465 runs in the second innings. Sri Lanka, in their second innings, batted 90 overs and scored 260 for 6, which meant that the game resulted in a draw.
The second Test match is currently underway. Earlier, Bangladesh had won the toss and elected to bat first. They got off to the worst possible start after losing 5 wickets for just 24 runs. However, Mushfiqur Rahim and Litton Das have made a brilliant recovery, since. Rahim and Litton are unbeaten at the crease on 54 and 64 respectively.
For Sri Lanka, Kasun Rajitha has been brilliant. He has managed to pick three crucial wickets in the first session, while Asitha Fernando picked two.
