Pakistan are all set to take on England in a seven-match T20I series starting 20th September at National Stadium, Karachi. Both the teams will look to finalise their team combinations heading into the World Cup next month.
However, right before the start of the series, a bizarre incident has come to light. During a security rehearsal ahead of the first match, the spider cam installed in the stadium fell after a helicopter reportedly came in contact with the wires.
The technical crew at the stadium rushed to the ground to resolve the issue while the official broadcasters also expressed their concern over the incident. However, the situation was back to normal after the technical team got things under control.
Meanwhile, Pakistan's bowling coach Shaun Tait has praised Naseem and said that his new-ball skills are excellent.
“In some ways, Naseem Shah reminds me of myself when I was a younger cricketer. He’s sort of free-spirited. But I wasn’t as intelligent as he is at this age. I think you’ve all seen his natural abilities and skill with the new ball, which is excellent,” Tait said in the press conference ahead of Pakistan's first match.
"Pakistan fast bowlers have their natural abilities. They like to keep things simple but they’ve got so much ability and have a lot of flair. So, that’s already ingrained in these guys,” Tait said about the bowling culture of Pakistan.
After their disappointing loss in the Asia Cup final, Pakistan have two series to get ready for the 20-20 World Cup next month. They have made a few changes to their squad for the mega tournament. Star batter Fakhar Zaman has failed to retain his place in the team because of an injury. Seamer Shaheen Afridi has also made his way back to the team after missing the Asia Cup due to an injury.
The ‘Men in Green’ will look to go one step ahead of their performance in the last year’s World Cup where they were knocked out in the semi-finals.
