Star Indian batter Sanju Samson is continuously in the headlines of social media since the selectors have named the squad of the Indian team for the 20-20 world Cup 2022. He has been axed out of the World Cup squad as the management went on to prefer Rishabh Pant over him for the marquee tournament. Since then, Indian cricket fans and experts are talking about the future of Sanju Samson.
Although, the Indian Cricket Board’s president, Sourav Ganguly has recently come up with a major statement and an update on the 27-year-old’s future with the national side of India. The omission of Samson from the 20-20 World Cup has made this debate a bit more intense.

“I am paying close attention to Sanju's performance and that the Kerala skipper is doing well. He represented India, but he almost missed the World Cup. Sanju is in the plans of the Indian team,” said Ganguly in his statement.
“He will now play in the ODI against South Africa. Additionally, he has excelled in the IPL, where he leads the Rajasthan Royals team,” he added later.
Notably, the Kerala skipper is set to play in the three-match ODI series against South Africa commencing next month on the 6th of October.
India defeated South Africa in the series opener
Recently, the men in blue were in action against South Africa in the first of the three-match T20I series. They dominated the entire match and completely outplayed the visitors to win the match by eight wickets and gain the lead of 1-0 in the series.
The hosts’ skipper Rohit Sharma won the flip of the coin and asked the visitors to bat first at the green top of the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram. Indian pace duo of Deepak Chahar and young sensation Arshdeep Singh completely destroyed the top and middle order of the South African team. They both sent five batters back to the pavilion only the score of nine runs. The proteas could post a total of only 106 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
While chasing the target, Rohit’s men comfortably crossed the line in 16.4 overs and scored 110 runs for the loss of two wickets. Eventually, they won the match by eight wickets. Arshdeep won the award of player of the match for his excellent bowling performance.
