Young Indian batter Shubman Gill is under the scanner after a poor display of batting in the first of the three-match ODI series against South Africa. Both teams played this match at Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. He could score only three runs off seven balls and fell prey to the veteran pacer Kagiso Rabada in the third over of the Indian innings.
Just a few days after the defeat and poor batting performance against South Africa, the Fazilka lad went on to share a few pictures on his official Twitter handle. In these photos, he was being accompanied by his teammate Ishan Kishan and stand-in skipper Shikhar Dhawan.
This chilling attitude of Shubman Gill didn’t go easy with the Indian cricket fans and they lashed out at the youngster on Twitter in no time. They went on to school the 23-year-old to focus on batting rather than diverting himself to other things or some sort of social media limelight.
Here’s how fans reacted to Shubman Gill's tweet:
Six pack bana liya bhai ab runs v bana le.. talent ke naam par defend karna mushkil ho rha ab.. big fan bro

You were a generational talent.
50 century marna padega till you retire.
Skipper Shikhar Dhawan and Shubman Gill came to open the innings for India in the series opener against the Proteas. They scored only seven runs after taking up 23 balls. It was also quite a bit unacceptable for the Indian cricket fans as the match was already reduced to 40 overs per side because rain played a villain before the start of the match.
Fans were disappointed with the Indian top order as the team lost four wickets only on the score of 51 runs and that too in 17.4 overs. Although, the half-century knocks from Shreyas Iyer and Sanju Samson ignited a ray of hope among the Indian fans. But unfortunately, the men in blue fell short of the target and lost the match by nine runs. The visitors are currently leading the three-match series with a score line of 1-0.
Now, both teams will face each other in the second ODI of the series at the Jharkhand State Cricket Association International Stadium in Ranchi on Sunday, 9th of October.
