Rishabh Pant missed the recently concluded IPL 2023 as he is still recovering from the injury that Pant sustained in a horrible road accident in December 2022. But, still, fans are hoping for him to make a comeback before the upcoming 2023 ODI World Cup. Now, on 14 June 2023, he shared a video on his Instagram account where the injured wicketkeeper was seen walking on stairs.
Seeing that, fans went crazy and shared their views. Rishabh Pant last played for India in the Test series in Bangladesh against the Bangla Tigers in December 2022. Meanwhile, in the IPL 2023 also, he was seen attending one of the Delhi Capitals’ (DC) match in Delhi. Even, during the World Test Championship (WTC) final, he shared updates where Pant was seen keeping an update on the epic clash.
Here is the shared video:

“Just to make it clear that he’s our leader, even if he’s not with us.” - Ricky Ponting about Pant ahead of IPL 2023
Pant shared the video with a caption: “Not bad yaar Rishabh. Simple things can be difficult sometimes.” Before the tournament, during a team event, DC head coach, Ricky Ponting talked about the injured wicketkeeper. He said: “In an ideal world for me, he’d be sitting next to me in the dugout every match. But if that’s not possible, we’d like to make him part of the team in ways possible. We can have his number on our shirts or on caps. Just to make it clear that he’s our leader, even if he’s not with us.”
Regarding Pant’s unavailability in the WTC final, Ponting said: “I am really surprised with Suryakumar Yadav’s omission for the all-important match. However, there is another X-factor that has just been added in Ishan Kishan. If you look at the way he plays, he is probably the most like Rishabh Pant with his potential to keep and bat in the middle order. If they do play those guys they should be given the right to play an aggressive brand of cricket.”
