Mohammed Siraj got the opportunity to play the ongoing third ODI against England as Jasprit Bumrah was unavailable due to a back spasm. The former got the opportunity to play in the tour after the fifth test match, which took place earlier this month. After that, the Men In Blue played three T20Is and two ODIs but the pacer didn't get a chance.
The right-arm pacer came in to bowl the second over of the game after the team decided to bowl first. In the first over, Mohammed Shami gave away 12 runs. In the next over, Siraj came in and bowled two dot balls first up. On the third ball, he took the wicket of Jonny Bairstow, who was caught at mid-off by Shreyas Iyer.
Joe Root came in at this stage and played two dot balls. On the last ball of the over, he nicked the ball to slips where skipper Rohit Sharma pouched it easily. The comeback of the Bangalore player has been terrific as he bowled a two-wicket maiden. On 12/2, Ben Stokes and Jason Roy stitched a partnership of 54 runs. They took the attack on Siraj and Shami.
Roy (41) played a nothing shot and was caught behind by Rishabh Pant off Hardik Pandya. The all-rounder his second wicket of Ben Stokes (27) who was caught and bowled. At the time of writing, the Three Lions were on 149/4 in 27 overs. Talking about Siraj's spell, his spell reads 7-1-51-2 at the moment. Despite leaking a few extra runs, he has certainly made his opportunity count in the ongoing game. Meanwhile, it will be interesting to see how he shapes up the next spell.
In the Test match he played, he took a four-for in the first innings. However, in the second innings, he could pick a single wicket and the team lost the game by seven wickets. Meanwhile, the fans are happy to see him making the most of the opportunity.
This is how Twitter reacted
When Siraj takes the ball away, he becomes such a threat. I feared he was becoming a scrambled seam inward slant bowler. Excellent over.

Bumrah’s absence no relief for England. Siraj rises to the occasion. With in form Bairstow and Root both gone, India have taken early grip on the match

50 Wickets ✅ in 22 matches for #TeamIndia .
Break the shackles...
Today's Blockbuster over is a good sign 1-0-0-2 double wicket maiden just like #AshishNehra Sir did in 2003. #INDvENG
