Pakistan’s defeat against England in the final of the 20-20 World Cup 2022 has lowered the boiling point of the temperament of many former cricketers and some cricket fans as well. In a recent spat on Twitter, senior Indian pacer Mohammed Shami happened to take a dig at former legendary pacer Shoaib Akhtar’s disappointment with Pakistan’s defeat in the final of the eighth edition of the 20-02 World Cup.
The 47-year-old former legendary Rawalpindi pacer tweeted an emoji of a broken heart following his team’s defeat against England. Subsequently, Mohammed Shami found an opportunity in Akhtar’s disappointment and the former took no time in taking a dig with a tweet in the tone of a taunt.
“Sorry brother, It’s called (karma,” read the tweet Shami posted mentioning Akhtar’s tweet. With this tweet, Shami tried to refer to a statement where Shoaib Akhtar was of a critical opinion about the 32-year-old pacer’s inclusion in the team as a replacement for the senior pacer Jasprit Bumrah.
Sorry brother

It’s call karma 💔💔💔 https://t.co/DpaIliRYkd
Shami’s take didn’t go down well with one of the fastest bowlers who ever played the game. Furthermore, Akhtar went on to hit back at Shami with a reply even before the latter’s tweet completed at least two hours.

The veteran of 47 Test matches tweeted a photo of Harsha Bhogle’s tweet about Pakistan’s bowling. While replying to Shami’s ‘Karma’ Remarks. Shoaib Akhtar wrote with the snap of Harsh’s tweet, "And this what you call sensible tweet.”
Speaking of Harsha Bhogle’s tweet, the Indian cricket pundit praised the bowling of Pakistan to show their intent while defending a low total of 137 runs against a strong batting team like England.
"Credit to Pakistan. Few teams would have defended 137 the way they did. Best bowling team,” wrote Harsha while praising the performance of Pakistan in the final of the eighth edition of the 20-20 World Cup.
Speaking about the match, the young 24-year-old all-rounder Sam Curran and veteran all-rounder Ben Stokes played a crucial role in the second title triumph for England in the shortest format of the tournament.
